Following every fire, mushrooms follow. In the summer following the 2017 fire, mushroom pickers and buyers flooded the area in the hundreds. A family from Germany stayed at the campground for a couple of days. They went to a wedding at Horsefly dressed in traditional garb from the Black Forest region. We meet so many interesting folks.

The Stampede infield is used almost weekly for local events, not all of them rodeo.
