A fire started in the valley, right along side Williams Lake. 4 water bombers, 2 helicopters and a spotter plus ground crew from several departments fought the fire.

The BC Wildfire Service and Williams Lake Fire Department took care of a potential fire concern by doing a burn today. Fall weather has arrived. Days are warm and nights decidedly chillier. That means sweaters in the morning and shorts in the afternoons. It’s a great time of year.
The weather this week is beautiful and there’s no shortage of campers. We fill up each night and empty out each day. We walk as much as we can. This morning was glorious so we went for a walk on a slightly different path. There is a closed rodeo event going on this weekend so there are livestock and a few trailers in the infield.
The Williams Lake Stampede Campground has a number of Mountain Ash. This year they’ve been spectacular both spring and fall. The blackbirds are starting to gather so they’ll soon be feasting on the berries. They are my favourite tree in the campground. They are easiest to keep trimmed and are out of the way of … Read more
